This recipe for homemade cranberry sauce is so easy. Seriously. When people ask you for the recipe, lie….tell them it takes hours. They’ll believe you, it’s that good.
Start by dumping your cranberries in a saucepan.
Add in some sugar.
Then add in some pomegranate juice. It’s adds a little punch, but if you want, you can switch it out for apple juice. Or if you wanna get really wild, substitute half the juice with a little liquor, like bourbon or whiskey. Or a little red wine. (It’ll help you get thru those hours with your family.)
Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Then bring it to a boil over medium heat and cook for about 20 minutes. Stirring frequently.
It’ll thicken as it cooks.
Pour it in a bowl and allow it to chill in the fridge while everything else cooks. It’ll thicken up more as it cools.
That’s it. Really. Easy peasy!
And the best part is…it’s not gelatinous and shaped like a can. It’s really more like a cranberry jelly, or preserve.
Everyone will be so impressed with you if you make this!
